Dr. Schicksal felt his own weakness, so he summoned new allies to help with his plan to stop the Chaos Era. So Etrigan, the demon, and Mordru joined forces with Dr. Schicksal, each one driven by his own interests.

Soon after the battle in the U.S., Schwarzer Falke I died under mysterious circumstances. After his death, a young officer of the Falkenmänner claimed to have received the soul of their master to live within him. People said that Dr. Schicksal had his hand in it and that the young Falkenmänner officer used to be Falkenfrau´s lover. After the death of the first Smaragdritter in the hands of Green Arrow, Dr. Schicksal gave the powerful sword to another German, which became the new Smaragdritter.

In the U.S., no one had heard about the JLA since 1992. The former Senator Luthor became the President of the U.S. and the international relations between the U.S. and Germania had never been so good. Both nations prospered in those years, benefiting from several international agreements.

Both the JLA and the Guardians of Magic worked together under the austere leadership of Batman. After the death of Catwoman, he became even darker then before, like something bad was brewing inside him. Superman had received a massive dosage of Kryptonite radiation that did not kill him, but kept him in bed attached to several machines that worked day and night in order to keep him alive. Mr. Terrific II designed an armour that could sustain his life and also allow him to move freely, but he had to wear the armour all the time. He had become a Man of Steel. The nephew of the Flash and the daugther of Starman II joined the group just after Superman´s daughter and Huntress, Green Arrow and Black Canary´s daughter.

Batman had sent his daughter to infiltrate the Falkenmänner and gather as much information as she could about Dr. Schicksal´s plans. She adopted an extreme course of action: she became Schwarzer Falke´s lover. Falkenfrau was suspicious of her, but when she found out what was going on, it was too late. The JLA attacked when Dr. Schicksal, the demon and Mordru begun the ritual that would secure the ever lasting ORDER ERA. A battle that would decide the fate of the world began.

Zatanna, leading the Guardians of Magic and Mr. Terrific II engaged Dr. Schicksal, Mordru and Etrigan. Infuriated, Falkenfrau attacked Batgirl and Batman fought Schwarzer Falke II. Once again krieger Königin fought a descendant of the first Starman and Night Wing engaged his former girlfriend. Supergirl fought against Schwarzer Adam and the Flash II and Huntress engaged Smaragdritter II.

Mr. Terrific II set The Wrath of God free and with his help , Dr. Schicksal and his allies were defeated by the Guardians of Magic. J.J. Thunder ordered his genie to fight Schwarzer Adam and after The Wrath said that Schwarzer Adam´s powers came from a magical thunder, the Thunderbolt decided to fly through him. By doing so he stole Schwarzer Adam´s powers but was unable to control them, he had to get rid of that huge amount of power and by accident he released the magical thunder in J.J.´s direction. When the thunder hit him, he became The Thunder. With his help, Starwoman defeated Krieger Königin. Smaragdritter II was using a vest under his uniform to prevent any piercing object to hit him, so the Huntress arrows were ineffective against him. Supergirl managed to break Smaragdritter´s concentration and finally defeated him. After a fierce fight, Nightwing defeated Krieger Prinzessin. During their fight against the Flying Germanians, Batman saw his daughter in danger of being killed by Falkenfrau, and that was enough to set his darker side free. Fighting like a madman, Batman killed both Schwarzer Falke II and Falkenfrau. Batgirl never saw her father like that.

Back in the U.S., the Man of Steel used the information gathered by the League to expose President Luthor.

After the defeat of Dr. Schicksal´s forces, The Wrath of God took Nabu´s artifacts back to Egypt, Mordru was imprisoned and the demon went back to the place he came. Krieger Königin and Krieger Prinzessin were taken back to Themiscyra to be judged by the Amazonian laws. Mr. Terrific II took the power sword and kept it in a safe place until someone could use the immense power of the Star Heart. Feeling that his mission was over, The Man of Steel finally rested. Still shocked by her father behavior, Batgirl convinced him to retire. It fell upon Night Wing the responsibility to lead the new JLA to a brighter future.
